This organ was no longer used in the “Saint Jean-Baptiste de la Salle” college since more than 20 years. Build in 1954 by the Delmotte Company. This organ was offered for a new destination. With “Luthiers Sans frontières”  this organ was dismantled and rebuild in the beautiful  basilica of Saint Francisco de Assisi  in the old Havana, Cuba. This organ became:

  • Dismantled and repaired
  • Many new pieces were made in the workshop 
  • Treated against termites and humidity
  • Stored in special made wooden boxes
  • Sent in a container by boat to Cuba
  • Built and adapted to the new surroundings
  • Acoustic testing made
  • Adapted on electricity area (220V, 60 Hz)
  • All pipes restored, adapted and placed on the organ table
  • Harmonised and tuned to the new high temperatures and high humidity
  • Fine tuning
